I am in my own process of relocation right now, thus, I really understand why people who are planning to move, go through stress. Of course, moving can not to be completely free of stress – finding the right place already takes so much time and concerns, and then it starts to seem that the hardest bit is already behind, the actual moving day takes place and all amount of issues and concerns grows again. Here are some tips that you might need that helped me to reduce my concerns and have quite a calm removal.
First of all, plan it at least week in advance so that you can put all your affairs in order, make the list of things that need to be done and that must be done – here is a difference. Some things you need to manage to do before you move; some can wait till the time you are in your new place. Then pack systematically, do not just throw things in boxes and bags, pack everything separately not to get lost in all of your possessions later on. Also, one of the most important things is to hire the right moving company – not the one who is just going to pick up your things and throw them to your new place, the one who can provide with good service and who care about you and understand what exactly you need from them.
In you have a plan, everything is going to work out. Just try no to do everything the last minute, allow yourself also some extra time just in case something goes not the way you planned it and you will be fine!

Many people when moving and trying to find a removal company are looking for the cheapest option, which is fair. Moving involves already so many costs that everyone wants to save on the moving company. But as a matter of fact, price should not be the only factor which influences your decision; there are so many other things that you should look regarding the moving company before signing the deal.
While price has a critical importance when selecting the removals company, there are other things that need to be considered. In fact, many good removals companies provide great customer service, are always on time and have professional stuff – isn’t it something that you would be looking for as well? What I’m trying to say is that paying a bit more is worth it. It works as a rule – companies who have the lowest fees, have the lowest service. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
The best thing to do would be to gather several quotes from different companies and when the quote is received, compare the prices, but also the service which came along with it. If the company cares about the customers that they are quoting, almost for sure they will care also about the actual job that they are doing. Also, keep in mind the reviews of different companies that can be found online and compare those as well. All of the things mentioned above will build a better picture of the removals company that you have selected and what kind of service you can expect from that particular company. Good luck with moving!

These days there are so many removals companies in the UK that often consumers get confused which one to choose. And of course, when there are so many removals companies, there are even more company reviews online that you can check before choosing the company that is the best, but there is a slight chance they are not entirely true. So now lets discuss the reliability of these reviews.
The value of checking the reviews before hiring a moving company is great. If you spot a number of the same drawbacks of the same company that you can be sure that something is wrong there – consistency is definitely alert to a potential problem. For instance, there will be cases when people will complain about the staff’s lack of care about breakable and fragile items or if the company does not arrive on time.
However, the cases when the reviews are not reliable may occur as well. For example, in case a company hires the removals company and a new mover who just started working is there to complete the job and he is not that experienced, that might affect the reputation of the whole company. So this is why it is so important to find tendencies in the reviews to spot those, who are just single cases and do not reflect upon the work of the relocation company as a whole.
The right thing to do is to filter all the reviews and only when the research has been made, make the right choice.

Every removals company has their own way of calculating relocation costs, but normally they all involve a number of components. For instance, they must include the time spent driving from one location to the other, also they take into account how many staff members were required to complete the moving. In addition, it may play a role where exactly your home is located, that is whether it is the first or second floor, how close they could park and how easy it was to get all the items to the vehicle. Some companies might even differentiate their pricing system on different days of week – lets say weekends might cost more since there is more demand for their services. On top of these factors, some removals companies might charge additionally for gas, insurance or even seasons (as some month are more busy than others for the movers). What else needs to be discussed before moving is whether they charge additionally if there is no elevator in the block of flats, whether they need to pay for parking and if the removals company considers the relocation a long distance. Taking into account all these factors can put an effect on total cost and this can help you to compare the quotes between different companies and choose the one whose overall cost is the lowest for the same job.

Removals market is growing and everyday there is another company established that offers more or less the same services than any others. When the choice is so wide, it is hard to chose the company which suits your needs best.
When choosing a removal company, you need to establish the criteria – what kind of service you require. To start with, you need to sort your things out, pack them, ensure that they are safe, then load them on to the vehicle and then finally bring them to the destination and unpack. If you require full service, you need to look for companies that offer all of this. When doing your research, you already must know what exactly you require – if you decided to buy packaging materials and pack your belongings on your own, just look perhaps for man and van company, also find out if loading and unloading is included in case if you need it. Also, pay attention to what is included in the price when getting your quote – is it just moving or it is a full service.
All these details are important because you do not want to realize when getting your service that you actually paid just for a half of it. Or the other way round, overpay for services that you do not actually require.

Those who have moved before know that your removal must be organised from the very first step, otherwise it can bring a lot of headache later – your belongings will get lost, damaged or end up in a place where they should not be. This is why it is highly important to pack everything in a way that ensures safe arrival of all your belongings to the destination.
To start with, items that you need to transport need to be listed. Then it is sensible to come up with a strategy or a system how you are going to organise your belongings. One way to do it, is numbering all items and boxes that they need to go in, so that when unpacking this would be easier or coming up with a colour system (for example, assigning a colour to each room and then putting colour stickers on the boxes from that room).
Also, it needs to be ensured that you have enough boxes and other materials. Many removal companies offer everything you need – boxes, packing tape, paper, bubble wrap etc. Also, when packing think of how you are going to lift everything you have packed – do not make the boxes impossible to carry.
The hard work that is done prior to the moving itself will be paid off later, when you have arrived in your new home or office and you know exactly where your things are and, most importantly, that they are safe and undamaged.
